Man jailed on charge of child exploitation

GREENFIELD — A Wilkinson man was arrested this week after a teen told police she exchanged inappropriate text messages with the 21-year-old, court documents state.

Kory Emge was arrested Wednesday and faces a Level 5 felony count of child exploitation, records show.

A 13-year-old told police she met Emge at Riley Pool in Greenfield in 2015 and started a relationship with him when he told her “age was just a number,” court documents state. The girl’s mother called police after finding sexually explicit messages on the girl’s cellphone, investigators said.

Emge was questioned by police and denied any inappropriate behavior, saying he believed the girl was older than 18, court documents state.

Emge was being held in the Hancock County Jail on a $10,000 bond at press time.
