Joanna S. Free, 90, Ingalls, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, at home surrounded by family. She was born March 21, 1926, in Ingalls to the late Frank and Della (Burns) Sylvester.
Joanna retired from Delco-Remy in 1974 after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 662.
She is survived by her sons, William J. Free of Franklin, Ohio and Mark E. Free of Ingalls; grandson, Matthew A. Free of Indianapolis; and brothers, Richard Sylvester of Fortville and Harold Sylvester of Ingalls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert S. Free, whom she married on October 16, 1949; brothers, Gerald and James Sylvester; and sister, Helen Reger.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 5, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A graveside service will take place at 11:45 a.m. at Menden Cemetery, Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
