Chocolate Walk tops this week’s picks

GREENFIELD — If you love chocolate, then mark your calendar for Aug. 12 for this year’s Chocolate Walk. The walk starts at 5 p.m. at the Chamber Building, 1 Courthouse Plaza. A $15 registration fee gets you a punch card for each stop, a map, a bag and a program.

Get your card punched and enjoy chocolate at each stop. When your card is full, bring it back to the chamber to enter a raffle drawing and vote for your favorite stop along the walk. To order tickets and for more information, visit greenfieldcc.org/events.

INDIANAPOLIS — GenCon, the grand-daddy of all pop culture conventions, returns to the Indiana Convention Center, 100 S. Capital, today though Sunday. Events kick off at 8 a.m. Thursday and run around the clock until 3 p.m. Sunday.

Highlights of the four-day festival of games and gaming include: True Dungeon, a real life Dungeons and Dragons event, the vendor hall with more than 500 exhibitors; a costume contest and a Pokemon Go meet-up.

INDIANAPOLIS — Cirque du Soleil presents “Toruk — The First Flight,” Wednesday to Aug. 14 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 125 S. Pennsylvania.

With this show, Cirque du Soleil is launching a first-of-its-kind downloadable app, available on iTunes, to enhance the overall show experience and enable audience members to be part of the action before, during and after the show.

INDIANAPOLIS — Conner Prairie’s Symphony on the Prairie concert series presents the music of ABBA from tribute band Waterloo on Friday and Saturday at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road.

Waterloo will perform ABBA’s hits such as “SOS,” “Dancing Queen” and “Mamma Mia.” Performances start at 8 p.m.

Attendees are welcome to come early with lawn chairs or a blanket and a picnic dinner.
