Little Cougar hoops registration open

The Greenfield-Central Little Cougar Basketball League is accepting registrations for the 2016 season.

Practices start Aug. 29 and 30, with games beginning the same week on Aug. 31. Each team will practice once a week at the Greenfield-Central Fieldhouse. Sessions will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. Each practice will be an hour long.

Most games will be played Wednesday nights (except Sept. 27) at the Greenfield-Central Fieldhouse. For players in kindergarten through third grade, their league will be instructional.

Registration forms must be submitted by Aug. 24 to insure each player receives a shirt. Cost for registration is $50 per player. Forms are available at all Greenfield-Central Schools.

Dragons All-Sports passes available

All-Sports passes for the upcoming season are on sale now in the New Palestine High School athletics office. These passes include the Dragons’ football game during the Indianapolis Colts Horseshoe Classic on Aug. 19.

The New Palestine football team opens the season against Class 5A rival Whiteland at 8:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium. Tickets at the gate are $13.

The Dragons All-Sports passes are priced at $65 for students, $80 for adults and $250 for a family.

New Pal athletics sets sports kick-off meeting

Parents, patrons and players are encouraged to attend the New Palestine Kickoff Parent Meeting on Thursday.

The event conducted by the New Palestine athletic department will feature new information, schedules, posters, giveaways and more at 6:30 p.m. inside the New Palestine High School auditorium.

Those in attendance will be able to learn about New Palestine athletics, meet new coaches, join the New Palestine Athletic Boosters, gather information on the Dragon Leadership Program, learn about the Athletic Code and purchase All-Sports season tickets.

Cougar Value Cards sales benefit teams

The Greenfield-Central High School athletics is now selling Cougar Value Cards for the 2016-17 school year.

The cards are $10 each and are available for sale through the high school athletics office or from any fall athlete. All proceeds benefit Greenfield-Central athletics programs.

Each card is valid through Sept. 1, 2017, and offers multiple discounts at local restaurants and businesses.

The merchant list includes: Applebee’s, Chicago’s Pizza, Dave’s Express Car Wash, Express Car Wash, Firehouse Subs, Lincoln Square Pancake House, McCleery’s Sporting Goods, McDonald’s, Montana Mike’s, The Mug, Orange Leaf, Papa John’s, Papa Murphy’s, Strike Force, That Fun Place, Valvoline Express Care, Waffle House, White Castle, Worland Cleaners and Ye Olde Head Shoppe Salon & Spa.
