Chalkfest event set outside Hancock County Courthouse

GREENFIELD – Artists of all ages are invited to take part in Chalkfest from 3 to 6 p.m. July 30. For a $5 registration fee, each participating artist is given chalk and three square feet of sidewalk space outside the Hancock County Courthouse, 9 E. Main St.

This year’s theme is Indiana’s Bicentennial. Prizes will be given in five categories. Visit Greenfield Main Street on Facebook for more information.

KidsPlay Inc. sets auditions for superhero-themed fall play

GREENFIELD — KidsPlay, Inc. children’s theatre will conduct auditions for its fall production of “Team Justice and the City Hall Supervillains” from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9 for returning KidsPlayers and Thursday, August 11 for new auditioners.

Approximately 25 speaking parts and 12 openings for dancers are open for boys and girls in the third through eighth grades. New auditioners should come prepared with an audition monologue of one minute or less. Auditions will be at the KidsPlay Dungeon on the lower level of the Memorial Building at 98 East North Street in Greenfield.

Additional audition information will be posted on the KidsPlay Facebook page prior to auditions. Performances are November 11, 12 and 13.

County arts Council compiling database of musicians for hire

HANCOCK COUNTY – The Hancock County Arts and Cultural Council is looking to create a database of Hancock County musicians and bands with at least one Hancock County resident that are available for hire.
