Betty Johnson, 91, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born July 5, 1925 in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Elbert and Edna (Milner) Carlton.
Betty worked for several years at Electra Bear Cat Scanners in Cumberland, and was a member of Eastern Star of New Palestine. She was a loving mother and her joy in life was spending time with her family. She loved cross stitching, reading, Pinochle, Euchre and Yahtzee playing with her family.
Survivors include daughters, Rita Jo Johnson of Alabama, Jane (Rollie) Morton of Kentucky, Carol (Michael) Wagner of Georgia; sons, Ronald (Debra) Johnson of Greenfield, David (Debbie) Johnson of Greenfield; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter B. Johnson; brothers, Elbert Jr, Robert and Jay Carlton.
Calling will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 21, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with funeral service at 7 p.m., officiated by family. A graveside service will take place Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
