Kids’ clothing sale to aid mission work

FORTVILLE — The Missions Ministries of Fortville Church of the Nazarene plan a children’s clothing and accessories sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Proceeds from the sale will support the church’s children’s mission project, the Joseph Training Project, which trains workers to go out among their friends and neighbors and preach the gospel in China.

Singing group to perform today

KNIGHTSTOWN — The Moles Family Singers of Muncie will sing at 6 p.m. today at Knightstown Church of God, 405 North St. They will be the featured singers in the monthly singing program at the church. Everyone is welcome.

Free dinner planned at St. John United

CUMBERLAND — St. John United Church of Christ will serve a free dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, 11910 E. Prospect St. Everyone is welcome.

Grace Harmony set to perform in Wilkinson

WILKINSON — Grace Harmony, the singing duo of Mike and Sue Filisky, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. State Road 109.

St. Thomas Festival to feature food, fun

FORTVILLE — St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church’s 34th annual festival weekend is set for Aug. 5 and 6.

Monte Carlo Night runs from 7 to 11 p.m. Aug. 5 and is for adults 21 and older. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $20 per person or $30 per couple and includes food, soft drinks, beer and wine coolers.

Family festival activities run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 6 and include children’s games, live music, raffles for prizes, a homemade chicken noodle dinner and a homemade dessert corner. There will also be bingo, a blood drive, a silent auction, a farmers market and a lemon shake-up stand. Festivalgoers also can tour the church’s building at 523 S. Merrill St.

All proceeds will benefit the church.

Gospel quartet concert at Buck Creek Baptist

CUMBERLAND — GloryWay Quartet will be in concert at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at Buck Creek Baptist Church, 135 S. Muessing. These southern gospel recording artists will present their renditions of old-time hymns, as well as some of their new releases.

Weight-loss class offers free preview

GREENFIELD — Park Chapel Christian Church offers a free TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) weight-loss class to new attendees. The class meets from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 1176 E. McKenzie Road.
