The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

June 16

Dragon Palace

Location: 413 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – metal tray holding ice scoop needs to be cleaned, to be corrected by Aug. 1; NC – containers holding not potentially hazardous food need to be cleaned when empty and before adding new food in reach-in cooler, cart holding seasonings for wok, lip of container holding rice, outside of equipment such as blender base, scale, cabinet by slicer in back, handles of cabinets and reach-in cooler need to be cleaned, to be corrected by Aug. 1; NC/R – clean pipes and flooring near drain under wok unit, to be corrected by Aug. 1; NC/R – remove all items not necessary to the operation of the establishment, to be corrected by Aug. 1.

Huck’s Convenience Food & Fuel

Location: 322 E. Broadway, Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – foods on roller not up to 135 degrees for hot holding, corrected; C/R – expired lunch meat, sour cream and Landshire sandwiches, corrected/discarded; NC – aprons need to be stored in manner that prevents possible contamination from floor, corrected; NC – light bulbs need to be replaced in walk-in cooler, to be corrected by Sept. 1; NC – need to clean sandwich cooler to remove mold like substance from shelving, clean pizza cooler lower shelf to remove soil build-up, to be corrected by Sept. 1.

Chicago’s Pizza

Location: 1031 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – dish machine sanitizer too weak, corrected; C – expired buffalo chicken and milk, corrected/discarded; NC – dish machine not reading 120 degrees minimum for wash cycle, to be corrected by July 10.
