Evelyn Meral House, 94, passed away on July 8, 2016. Evelyn was born on February 24, 1922, in Bluff City, Ark., to the late Samuel and Myrtle Neal.
Evelyn was an avid fisherman and a master gardener and was happiest in her garden, she will be truly missed.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Dwain “Johnny” Wheelington, Lee Hazlett, Leon (Kay) House, Ann (David) Wilcher, and Marvin (Teresa) House; three brothers,one sister, 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Evelyn is also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee House, whom she married on June 7, 1948, and children, Mary Foster and Bobby House. She also had one brother and one sister preceding her in death as well.
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. with viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 15, at the Liming Family Funeral Home 306 Main St.,Shirley, Ind. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, with Rev. Jim Jackson officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Greenfield, along with the Hospice staff for all of their loving care for Evelyn.
