Tri Kappa awards scholarships

GREENFIELD — Tri Kappa Sorority, Upsilon Chapter, a Hancock County philanthropic sorority, awarded several academic scholarships in 2016.

  • Hope Williams, a 2013 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, received a Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc. State Academic Scholarship to continue her studies at St. Louis University.
  • Wendy Davison, Greenfield, received the Helen Roath Memorial Adult Scholarship, which she will use at Anderson University.
  • Four local high school graduates of the Class of 2016 received $1,000 scholarships to begin their university experience: Emily Fleming, Mt. Vernon High School graduate, will study business at Butler University; Samara Fletcher, Greenfield-Central High School graduate, will study nursing at Purdue University; Kinzie Kramer, Eastern Hancock High School graduate, will study business at IU-East; and Hannah Rush, New Palestine High School graduate, will pursue family and consumer sciences at Ball State University. Hannah’s scholarship is given by the daughters of Martha Hawk, who was a valued member of the New Palestine community, long time educator and active member of Upsilon Chapter.
