HANCOCK COUNTY — Local students have received scholarships from a variety of areas, from banks, businesses and the schools they plan to attend.

Six area students received scholarships from Harvest Land Co-op, an agribusiness owned cooperatively by farmers in several east central Indiana and southwest Ohio counties.

The winners of the $1,000 2016 Harvest Land scholarships are Conner Cross and Logan O’Neal from Eastern Hancock High School and Danielle Hunt and Dusty Cowart from Greenfield-Central High School.

Matt Bowman, of Greenfield, was awarded an achievement scholarship from Defiance College. Matt, son of Heather and Marshall Bowman, is a student at Eastern Hancock High School.

Defiance College, chartered in 1850, is an independent, liberal arts institution in northwest Ohio.

Jordan Martin, a 2016 New Palestine High School graduate, is the recipient of one of five $1,000 scholarships awarded by Toledo, Ohio-area Glass City Federal Credit Union, to Glass City member students who are attending a two- or four-year accredited post-secondary institution during the 2016-17 school year. Martin is planning to attend Ball State University this fall as a legal studies major. She has received several New Palestine High School awards including the Academic Excellence Award and the Academic Athletic Award.
