GREENFIELD —  Edelweiss Equine-assisted Therapy Center hosts a horse therapy program for veterans from 1 to 4 p.m. June 26 at the center, 531 W.  County Road 100S.

The Edelweiss Equine Services for Heroes Program, launched in 2011, assists military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. An open house to introduce veterans to the program will feature tours of the facility and the chance to meet the horses.

Instructors and the program director will be on hand to inform guests about the benefits of therapeutic riding. Guests also can learn about volunteer opportunities, including side-walking, horse-handling, participating on feed and hay teams and other opportunities. Refreshments will be served.
