Man demands money, leaves on bicycle

GREENFIELD — A man armed with a gun demanded money from a Greenfield store clerk Wednesday night but fled the establishment on a bicycle before the worker handed over any cash, police said.

The man went to the Greenfield Dollar General on West Main Street Wednesday night and handed a cashier a note demanding money, police said.

The employee told police the suspect showed her a gun tucked into his waistband.

The man then left the store without any money, riding away on a black bicycle, police said. No one injured.

Investigators are still trying to locate the suspect. He is described as a slender white man wearing a fishing cap, a white long-sleeved T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Greenfield Police Department at 317-477-4410.
