Florence (Parks) Buchanan, age 76, of New Palestine, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at her home. She was born on January 13, 1940, in Rush County as the daughter of Lester and Mary (Stout) Parks.

She graduated from Arlington High School, Arlington, Ind., in 1958 and attended Eastern Kentucky College in Richmond, Ky. Florence worked for the Sears Company in Indianapolis for many years. She attended Post Road Christian Church as well as Cumberland Christian Church. She loved the Indiana Pacers, and she was a Board Member of Hancock County Corrections and a Republican Party Advocate.

Florence is survived by her children, Greg (Susan) Buchanan and Dan (Jenni) Buchanan, both of New Palestine, Julie (Jim) Bennett of Princes Lakes, Jenni Brown and Jody Agee, both of Indianapolis; and 14 grandchildren, Liz, Shawna, Jack, Scott, Zach (Amber), Ben, Maddy, Shane, Amanda, Jessica, Sam, Michael, Becca and Emma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mary Parks; son, Phillip Buchanan; grandson, Colin; and four brothers, Arnold, Vernon, Virgil and her twin brother, Lawrence Parks.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. A Celebration of Life will follow the gathering, beginning at 6 p.m.
