Illinois man dies of heart ailment at truck stop

GREENFIELD — An Illinois man was found dead inside his semi-trailer Thursday evening after suffering a heart attack, investigators say.

Emergency crews were called to the Pilot Travel Center on County Road 600W in Greenfield after Phillip Cox, 59, was found unresponsive.

Coroners believe Cox suffered a heart attack after driving into the travel center parking lot around 3 a.m. Thursday.

The trucking company Cox works for called local police after Cox did not drop off a haul in Indianapolis as he was scheduled to. Cox was found hours later, officials said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Friday afternoon to confirm the cause of death. Investigators do not suspect foul play.
