Learn about conifers, hostas at Master Gardeners meeting

GREENFIELD — All are invited to the Hancock County Master Gardeners’ monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 26 at the Hancock County Extension Office, 802 N. Apple St. The featured speaker, Jay Park, will discuss “Conifer Cognition.”

Jay and his wife Terri collect conifers and hostas. Their landscaped garden has been featured in four magazines and a gardening book. Jay and Terri Park are members of the American Conifer Society.

A business meeting of the Hancock County Master Gardeners will follow at 7:40 p.m. For questions call 317-861-9437.

Brown County offering Festival of Flowers Paint-Out

NASHVILLE — The Festival of Flowers Paint-Out, held on the grounds of the T. C. Steele State Historic Site, 4220 T. C. Steele Road, is open to all ages and all abilities.

The site opens at 7 a.m. Saturday and prizes will be given in adult and child categories of oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media and drawing.
