County needs range of transportation
To the editor:
I want to thank Linda Hart for her insightful column (“Transit troubles,” A4) in the Daily Reporter in the May 7-9, 2016, edition.
Linda has been largely responsible for the development of Hancock Area Rural Transit (HART) and has considerable insight into the transportation needs of the county. She is right — we might not be ready for mass transportation as it exists in larger communities.
I appreciate Linda’s efforts to advocate for transportation alternatives to each person driving their own automobile. It is time Hancock County’s government and business leaders look for ways to facilitate the implementation of a range of broader transportation services.
