Howard F. Kroeger, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1931, in Seymour as the son of Louis H. and Irene E. (Heideman) Kroeger.

He graduated from Sheilds High School in 1949. Mr. Kroeger received his Business Administration degree from Indiana University in 1957. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Howard married Marilyn L. (Pollert) on June 27, 1952, in Seymour.

He was a manufacturer’s representative for over 35 years, selling carpet and floor covering. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir and served on various boards. He was also a former member of Greenfield Rotary Club and Greenfield Country Club. He volunteered and delivered for Meals on Wheels for more than 8 years.

Howard is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kroeger of Greenfield; children, Deborah A. Dishman of Greenfield, Thomas H. (Nancy) Kroeger of Franklin, Tenn., and Susan L. (Joe) Yochum of Vincennes; nine grandchildren, Chad (Andrea) Dishman, Christopher Dishman, Lisa (Joe) Morrow, Matthew Kroeger, Katherine (Aaron) Holsteen, Elizabeth Kroeger, Amanda (Anthony) Sammartino, Curtis Personett and Jake Personett; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis H. and Irene E. (Heideman) Kroeger, and brothers, Harlan L. Kroeger and Kenneth W. Kroeger.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14, at Faith Lutheran Church, 200 W. McKenzie Rd., Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at noon. Reverend Daniel O’Connor will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
