Freddie “Bud” James Benedict, 81 years a resident of Linton, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1934, in Junction City, Ky., to the late Freddie Davis and Edith Lillian (Vermillion) Benedict.

He was an epoxy coatings installer and previously a union construction laborer that retired approximately twenty years ago. Bud was an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing with his wife and family, and enjoyed hunting in his younger days.

He is survived by his wife, Willa Jean (Martin) (Rush) Benedict whom he married in 1991; children, Rick J. Benedict, Randy (Pam) Benedict both of Indianapolis, daughter, Pammy K. Tuttle of Indianapolis, Ormund J. Rush Jr. of Fountaintown, John E. (Kara) Rush of Shelbyville, Veronica S. Rush of Greenwood; brother, Melvin (Drew) Benedict of Kentucky, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, sister, Jeanette “Sue” Benedict-McKinney and one grandson.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fountaintown Cemetery, Fountaintown, Ind.
