Gary Wayne Cowen, 63, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
He was born July 5, 1952, in Shelbyville, the son of Paul Wayne and Freda F. (Sweet) Cowen.
Gary is survived by his wife, Lori Lenning; his sisters, Sue (Larry) Theobald and Janice (Richard) M. Baker both of Shelbyville; brothers, Carl Eugene Cowen and Joey (Kim) L. Cowen, both of Shelbyville; father and mother-in-law, Walter H. and Mary Alice Lenning of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Dustin Cowen.
A gathering of friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tony Meads officiating. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
