Elsie M. Kilmer, 85, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her residence. She was born February 3, 1931, in Medina, Ohio, a daughter of Louis and Mary Taylor.

Elsie was employed at Mayhill Publications for nearly 25 years. She was a devoted mother and pastor’s wife and a “cheerleader” for her children during their activities. She was a member of the Knightstown Friends Church, United Society of Friends Women, Women’s Christian Temperance Union and Historic Knightstown. Elsie was also a scout leader and enjoyed antiques.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of

65 years, the Rev. Mervin Kilmer of Knightstown; children, Tim Kilmer of Ocala, Fla., Ruth (Paul) Mills of Greenfield, David (Debby) Kilmer of Goldsboro, N.C., and Roger (Julie) Kilmer of Westfield; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gizella Bickasan of Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Al Taylor; and two sisters, Magdalana Taylor and Mary Few.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 8, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Knightstown Friends Church with Chris Sitler and Tim Basford officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
