Anna E. (Layne) Combs, age 78, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at IU Methodist Hospital. She was born on November 23, 1937, in Wayland, Ky., as the daughter of Marion Layne and Dallis (Warrens) Crisp.
Anna married Martin Combs on Aug. 1, 1959, in Buckhorn, Ky. She was a loving housewife and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and family. Anna enjoyed going to garage sales.
Anna is survived by her husband, Martin Combs of Greenfield; daughters, Marta (Greg) Grinstead of Greenfield, Carolyn (Gordon) Bellamey of Georgetown and Janet (Paul) West of Scottsburg; sister-in-law, Evelyn Combs of Arcanum, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Justin Grinstead, Ryan “Gator” Grinstead, Cassie Perdue, Heather
Bellamey, Bess Gibson, Alyse Wilson, Andrea Earlywine, Jonathon Bellamey, Drew Cooper, Kassidy West, Billy Earlywine, C.J. Combs and Mason West; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Layne and Dallis (Warrens) Crisp; brother, Billy Crisp; and sister, Betty Owens.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 U.S. 40 West, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at the mortuary with viewing one hour prior to the service. Jeff Combs will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
