GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Community Foundation recently named Amber Sermersheim as its new advancement officer.

She was previously employed by the Alzheimer’s Association, where she managed the Walk to End Alzheimer’s campaign, including 12 fundraising events responsible for more than half the chapter’s annual revenue. Through her efforts, the Walk program grew by nearly 30 percent, raising more than $6.1 million under her direction, according to the community foundation.

Sermersheim grew up in central Indiana and attended Ball State University. She recently moved to Hancock County and is looking forward to serving her new community. She lives with her husband, Adam, in McCordsville and will welcome a son to the family this summer.
