HANCOCK COUNTY — County officials recently gave a department head permission to request contractor quotes to have debris removed from two local creeks.
County surveyor Susan Bodkin asked the commissioners to give her permission to solicit bids for the work; downed trees have jammed Brandywine and Sugar creeks, she said.
In Green Township, crews will remove debris from Sugar Creek just southwest of county roads 1000N and 600E; in Center Township, crews also will clear logs that have clogged Brandywine Creek southeast of county roads 400E and 500N.
