Track team selling Cougar Value Cards

The Greenfield-Central track and field team is selling the remainder of the Cougar Value Cards for $5 each as a fundraiser for the program.

These cards regularly sell for $10 and are good until Sept. 1. See any track team member or contact ConnieJo Harris to purchase a card today while supplies last.

Purchasers are eligible to receive various discounts every time the card is used at any of the following locations: That Fun Place, The Mug, Arby’s, Papa Murphy’s, Ye Olde Head Shoppe Salon & Spa, McCleerey’s Sporting Goods, Orange Leaf, Two Sisters Cakery, Montana Mike’s, Chicago’s Pizza, Express Car Wash, Valvoline Express, Applebee’s, Worland Cleaners, Strike Force Lanes, Papa John’s, McDonald’s, Greenfield Chocolates, White Castle and Firehouse Subs.

Drive Ford fundraiser returns to New Pal

A Drive Ford Fundraiser will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14 in the New Palestine High School parking lot.

Test drive a 2016 Ford vehicle and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 per driver to the NPHS Athletic Booster Club.

All test drivers will receive a shopping bag filled with goodies from Ford. In addition, all those who test drive or volunteer are entered for a chance to win a NPHS All Season Sports Pass, an electric guitar and gift baskets filled with NPHS spirit wear.

Walk-ups are welcome or a time slot can be reserved.

Run to Remember planned for high school

The Fourth Annual Run to Remember for Zach Lett, Todd Lewis and Benjamin Culver will be April 30 at Greenfield-Central High School.

The event opens with registration at 7:30 a.m. The 5K run or walk fundraiser begins at 9 a.m.

An early race packet pick-up will be available April 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at McCleerey’s Sporting Goods.

The cost to participate is $25 per person and $15 per student.

All proceeds from the race are equally divided between the Greenfield-Central High School track program and the memorial scholarships of Lett, Lewis and Culver.

Dragons, Marauders to play at Victory Field

The New Palestine and Mt. Vernon baseball teams will compete at the 2016 Victory Field Classic on Friday.

The Marauders will open the annual event in downtown Indianapolis at 5:30 p.m. when they face Class 4A Decatur Central. The Dragons will play 3A Guerin Catholic in the finale at approximately 8 p.m.

Presale tickets for Mt. Vernon vs. Decatur Central will be available this week for $4 at the Mt. Vernon High School athletics office. Tickets will cost $5 at the gate the day of the game.

Champions highlight Indy 500 Legends Day

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Firestone will honor all past winners of the Indianapolis 500 at Legends Day on May 28.

Living legends A.J. Foyt, Arie Luyendyk, Danny Sullivan, Al Unser, Al Unser Jr. and Bobby Unser are among those scheduled to appear as part of the Legends Day activities.

Admission to IMS on Legends Day will be $10 for adults, with children 12 and younger being admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
