Phyllis J. (Barker) Goin, age 70, of New Palestine, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Community Hospital East. She was born on Dec. 15, 1945, in Lexington, Ky., as the daughter of Curt and Lida (Humphrey) Barker.
She graduated from Bryan Station High School in Lexington in 1963, and she married Harold L. Goin on Dec. 16, 1966.
Phyllis worked at General Telephone of Kentucky as an account secretary for five years. Most recently, she had been a realtor with Beatty Realty in New Palestine. She was a member of Greenfield Church of Christ and loved her family and gardening.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Harold Goin of New Palestine; son, Richard (Renee) Goin of Lexington, Ky.; daughter, Christie (Brayden) Liechty of New Palestine; brothers, Colby and J.C.; sisters, Elsie, Florence and Faye; and four grandchildren, Isaac, Ryan, Katie and Ashlyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 U.S. 40 West, Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will follow visitation, beginning at noon at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. The Rev. John Skomp will be officiating.
