CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock High School is taking steps to allow more transfer students into its ranks in the future.

The Eastern Hancock Schools Corp. Board on Monday voted to increase the high school’s capacity by 35 students.

The current sophomore and junior classes are larger than the current freshman classes, and officials wanted to increase the capacity to prevent an enrollment drop, high school Principal Dave Pfaff said.

The capacity for the middle and elementary schools remains the same.
