FORTVILLE — A Mt. Vernon Schools employee accused of having sexual relationships with at least two of the district’s students was formally terminated from her position Monday evening by the school board.

Kisha Nuckols, 38, faces two Level 5 felony counts and one Level 6 felony count of child seduction along with a Level 6 felony count of dissemination of matters harmful to minors.

Prosecutors filed charges earlier this month after two teens told police they met Nuckols outside of school for sex on separate occasions, court records state.

Nuckols had been employed with the school district for about three years, working as a teacher’s aide at Mt. Vernon Middle School, a substitute at Mt. Vernon High School and lifeguard, police said.

Nuckols was suspended from her position pending a police investigation, and she formally was fired from her position Monday evening following a vote by the district’s school board.

Administrators issued a statement Monday saying they would not comment any further on the investigation.
