Peggy Wynn (Knopp) Lahey, 81, of Morristown, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Gwynneville. She was born November 19, 1934, in Hancock County. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Mary (Andis) Knopp.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Teresa Carlton of Gwynneville; sons, Kenny Carlton and Kevin (Robin) Carlton, both of Gwynneville; step-son, George Lahey Jr. of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Connie Carlton of Morristown; brothers, Bobby (Charlene) Knopp of Shelbyville, Billy Knopp of Manilla and Volney “Smokey” Knopp of Leavenworth; sisters, Patsy Martin of Danville, Ill., and Carol Sue (Ed) Jackson of Knightstown; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Elmer Carlton; brother, James Knopp; half-brothers, Donald Knopp and Ray Knopp; and half-sister, Evelyn Spencer.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington St., Morristown. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church, with Jim Coyle officiating. Inurnment will be at Asbury Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
