McCordsville church serving breakfast today

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church’s next Third Saturday Community Breakfast runs from 7:30 to 10 a.m. today at the church, 6247 W. Broadway.

Most breakfast favorites are on the menu. A free-will offering will be accepted for the meal.

Righteous Oaks marks sixth homecoming

WILKINSON — Righteous Oaks Baptist Church will have its sixth annual homecoming at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 8356 N. State Road 109.

The guest preacher will be James Lockard from Bronston, Kentucky.

A meal will follow the service.

Caring Place plans family cookout

McCORDSVILLE — The Caring Place’s McCordsville campus, meeting at 10 a.m. Sundays inside McCordsville Elementary School, will have a family cookout after services Sunday.

Missionary is guest speaker at church

MORRISTOWN — Kyle Bowers, missionary to Canada, will speak in the 10:30 a.m. service April 24 at Faith Baptist Church in Morristown.

Grants available for ministry initiatives

INDIANAPOLIS — Congregations in Hancock and other Central Indiana counties are eligible to apply for grants to help them establish new community ministries. The Community Ministry Grant is offered by the Center for Congregations, with support from the Lilly Endowment. Application deadline is April 27. Annual plant sale set at Amity church

BUCK CREEK TOWNSHIP — Amity United Methodist Church’s annual plant sale is set for 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 28 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29 at the church, at the corner of County Road 600W (Mt. Comfort Road) and County Road 100N.

It will feature annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, lilies, birdhouses, primitive wood furniture, watercolor greeting cards, gift plants and large porch pots.

This year’s event also will feature a church surplus garage sale.

All proceeds from the plant sale will go toward the renovation of the church’s community center.

Simulcast at St. James features teacher, author

GREENFIELD — A simulcast featuring Bible teacher and best-selling author Priscilla Shirer will be shown live from Reading, Pennsylvania, on April 23.

St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S. State St., is serving as a host location for the Greenfield area. Doors open at 8 a.m.; the simulcast runs from 8:50 a.m. to 4:35 p.m.

Shirer recently starred in the film “War Room.”

Tickets are free covering. Women may reserve their spot by calling 317-402-5741 or emailing [email protected]. You also can request a lunch for $5.

Gospel singer to perform at craft fair

GREENFIELD — Contemporary gospel singer Marcus Young will be in concert from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 7 at the Riley Wranglers’ 32nd annual Arts and Crafts Fair. The events take place at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds, 620 N. Apple St.

Young is an Indiana native who has performed on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
