Thomas G. Dickerson, age 71, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He was born on April 7, 1945, in Covington, Ky., as the son of Omer and Nolie (Long) Dickerson.
Thomas graduated from Versailes High School in 1963. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Roadway truck driver for over 25 years before retiring in 2006. He loved golfing, fishing and Arabian horses. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Dawn (Carl) Lindell of New Palestine; brother, Bill Dickerson of Pittsburgh, KS; grandchildren, Addison and Harrison Lindell; niece, Lisa Duke; and nephews, Jeff Dickerson and John Colvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Nolie (Long) Dickerson.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 U.S. 40 West, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 3 p.m. The Rev. Tom Scott will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine with military rites presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
