Weavery celebrates one year with open house

FORTVILLE — Hanson Weavery fiber arts studio, 101 W. Michigan St., is hosting a one-year anniversary open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Weaving demonstrations will be done on different looms by owner and weaving teacher LindaMarie Hanson. Guests may touch, watch and ask questions about the process.

Displays will show the history of looms, a variety of weaver’s tools and yarns made of unusual fibers such as corn and milk. Many examples of woven cloth, linens, towels and rugs will be shown.

Spinning wool will be demonstrated on a wheel by Eileen Burza. Light refreshments will be served. Schedules of on-going classes for teens through adults will be available at the open house. For more information, visit hansonweavery.com.
