HANCOCK COUNTY — Founder Judith Shepherd and board members Benjamin Brown, Darnell Hillman and George McGinnis of the American Recreation Resource and Education Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit association, announce the opening of a fundraising booth at the Old and New Treasures Flea Market, 509 W. 3rd Street, Rushville.

The association presents youth sport coaches with training programs throughout Indiana and other states. ARREC is currently developing a program, “Stable Influence,” to help at-risk youth through the use of horses. Stable Influence is in its beginning stages.

ARREC seeks funds and donations for the program. The organization also seeks a location in the quad-county area where the program can be headquartered. The program will teach youth responsibility, development of self-worth, self-discipline and the value of “horse sense” as a part of character building.

ARREC asks those who wish to help out to come to the flea market and drop off a donation.
