Mt. Vernon to host clinic for students’ vaccines

FORTVILLE — Mt. Vernon Community Schools Corp. and the Hancock County Health Department will offer a vaccine clinic 3:45 to 7 p.m. April 20 at Mt. Vernon High School for incoming seniors and sixth-graders.

Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All seniors must have a meningitis booster before starting senior year; all sixth-graders must have the same, as well as a tetanus, diptheria and pertussis (TDAP) vaccine before beginning the school year. Those without insurance or whose insurance doesn’t cover the shots will receive the immunizations at no cost.
