GREENFIELD — Former Greenfield Clerk-Treasurer Larry Breese returned to city hall Tuesday.

Breese recently was appointed to the board of public works and safety, replacing Daniel Reigelsperger, who resigned last month.

Breese retired as Greenfield clerk-treasurer at the end of 2015 after a 20-year career. He also served four years on the city council.

Those experiences made him the best candidate for the board of works position, said Mayor Chuck Fewell. The works board oversees day-to-day operations for the city.
