Cougars’ Hall invited to Top 60 Senior Workout

Greenfield-Central’s Tate Hall was named to Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 100 Senior List last month and invited to participate in its 29th annual Boys Top 60 Senior Workout.

The prestigious event will be conducted Sunday at Marian University. The Top 60 Senior Workout is open to the public, with admission at $8 per person and $5 for students.

The workout will be divided into two sessions, with the first from 1 to 3 p.m., and the second, with mostly players from central Indiana, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Hall, a University of Indianapolis recruit, finished his high school career with 1,315 points, which is fourth all-time at Greenfield-Central.

Greenfield-Central arranging athletic physicals

Pre-participation physicals for the 2016-17 school year are being scheduled through the Greenfield-Central athletics office for April 14.

This by appointment opportunity is available for incoming Greenfield student-athletes in seventh through 12th grades.

The wellness physicals will be conducted at the Parkway Medical Center (300 Boyd Avenue) directly behind Hancock Regional Hospital by the practices of the American Health Network and the Anderson Family Practice.

Those student-athletes who are AHN patients are asked to see their physicians that night. All other student-athletes will see an Anderson Family Practice physician that evening.

As part of the Affordable Care Act, insured patients will receive their comprehensive physical free of charge. If uninsured, families will be required to pay a 20 percent discounted out of pocket cost of approximately $120.

High school students are asked to sign up for a 15-minute time slot in the Greenfield-Central athletics office to avoid wait lines. Junior high students may be registered by a parent over the phone by contacting 462-9195 ext. 2.

For those families who would like a screening echocardiogram completed, they will be made available for an additional discounted fee.

Student-athletes must have their insurance information with them along with the IHSAA Pre-Participation Examination _ 2016.

Mt. Vernon to conduct physical night event

Physical night will be conducted at Mt. Vernon High School on April 12.

The event will be 6 to 8 p.m. inside the main gym. The cost is $20 by cash or check. Those interested in attending do not need to preregister.

Physicals are available for incoming middle school and high school students in the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. Methodist Sports Medicine is co-conducting the event with Mt. Vernon High School.

The physical is for the 2016-17 school year. All students planning on participating in school-related activities after July 1 must have their physical and online forms on file to be eligible. Stations set up for filling out online forms will be available during the event.
