Greenfield-Central arranging athletic physicals

Pre-participation physicals for the 2016-17 school year are being scheduled through the Greenfield-Central athletics office for April 14.

This by appointment opportunity is available for incoming Greenfield student-athletes in seventh through 12th grades.

The wellness physicals will be conducted at the Parkway Medical Center (300 Boyd Avenue) directly behind Hancock Regional Hospital by the practices of the American Health Network and the Anderson Family Practice.

Those student-athletes who are AHN patients are asked to see their physicians that night. All other student-athletes will see an Anderson Family Practice physician that evening.

As part of the Affordable Care Act, insured patients will receive their comprehensive physical free of charge. If uninsured, families will be required to pay a 20 percent discounted out of pocket cost of approximately $120.

High school students are asked to sign up for a 15-minute time slot in the Greenfield-Central athletics office to avoid wait lines. Junior high students may be registered by a parent over the phone by contacting 462-9195 ext. 2.

For those families who would like a screening echocardiogram completed, they will be made available for an additional discounted fee.

Student-athletes must have their insurance information with them along with the IHSAA Pre-Participation Examination _ 2016.
