Building evacuated for false alarm

GREENFIELD — A Greenfield business was evacuated Monday morning after employees reported seeing a person with a gun, which turned out to be a false alarm.

Police were called around 9:30 a.m. to Engineered Machined Products, 125 N. Blue Road, Greenfield, where employees called 911 reporting they saw someone with a gun in the building.

The staff was immediately evacuated.

Police officers, including several with the Indiana State Police Special Response Team, searched the building and parking lot but found nothing alarming.

Investigators determined the employees might have seen a man wearing a tool belt walking through the halls. Officers gave the all-clear just after 10 a.m.
