FORTVILLE — A teacher’s aide admitted to police she had sex with a high school student after flirting with him online and sending him naked photos of herself, court documents state.

A warrant was issued Friday afternoon for the arrest of Kisha Nuckols, 38, a teacher’s aide at Mt. Vernon Middle School and former substitute teacher for the district. She faces three felony charges of child seduction.

Nuckols has been suspended from her duties pending an internal investigation, school officials said Friday afternoon. She had not been arrested at press time.

Nuckols has been employed with the school district for at least three years, working as a teacher’s aide, substitute and lifeguard, police said

Two students said they met with Nuckols outside of school for sex on separate occasions, charging documents state. When detectives from the Fortville Police Department approached Nuckols about the allegations, she admitted to the acts, and said she’d also had inappropriate relationships with four former Mt. Vernon students, court documents state.

One victim told police he has met Nuckols for sex at least 10 times since last fall, sometimes in her car and sometimes in her home while her family was asleep upstairs. Another victim said he met Nuckols once in January in a neighborhood near her home and they engaged in sex acts in his car, court records state.

Mt. Vernon administrators told police Tuesday that rumors were making their way through the school that an employee was having a sexual relationship with a student.

The student’s family was contacted, and the boy turned over his cellphone to police. The boy told police he and Nuckols had flirted for several months on social media after she requested to follow him on Twitter. Eventually, he started receiving explicit pictures from Nuckols, who later asked him to meet up, court documents state.

In November, Nuckols asked the boy to meet her for the first time, and they engaged in a sex act in her car, he told police. She then asked him to come back to have sex at her home; “he stated he declined because it was past his curfew,” court documents state.

They met several times in the following months, sometimes having sex in her car and on a few occasions in her home at night after her husband and children were asleep, court documents state.

Nuckols told police she knew the boy was 17 when their relationship began and that it “started off innocent,” but “she knew that the relationship was wrong,” court documents state.

Nuckols’ conversation with police led detectives to a second victim. He said he told Nuckols he felt uncomfortable about their encounter in January, and “Nuckols was extremely apologetic and stated she did not want to make him feel awkward,” court documents state.

Nuckols has been prohibited from coming on school grounds, school officials said Friday.

Nuckols faces two Level 5 felony counts and one Level 6 felony count of child seduction along with one Level 6 felony count of dissemination of matters harmful to minors.

Each Level 5 felony she faces carries a penalty of one to six years; each Level 6 felony carries a penalty of six months to 2½ years.

A judge has order Nuckols to be held without bond pending a court appearance.
