Hancock Regional Hospital receives award for wound care

GREENFIELD — Hancock Regional Hospital recently received recognition for its wound healing services.

The Center for Wound Healing, which offers outpatient care services and treatment for traumatic injuries, received the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, a national organization specializing in wound healing.

The Center for Wound Healing, located inside Hancock Regional Hospital, 801 N. State St., received the award for achieving exceptional performance for 12 consecutive months, including a patient sat-isfaction rating above 92 percent.

The center offers outpatient wound care serves and treatment, including physical therapy, lab evaluation and pain management.

Of the about 500 centers eligible for the award, 221 received the honor, according to a release from the hospital.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the top wound care centers in the nation and congratulate our physicians, nurses and clinicians who’ve been identified as experts in wound care and hyperbaric medicine,” program director Stephanie Taylor said in a written statement.
