FORTVILLE — The Marauder Wrestling Club flexed some muscle during the Indiana State Wrestling Association’s 2016 Folkstyle State meet earlier this month.

The club took 11 wrestlers to the ISWA state tournament at Warren Central on March 12 and placed 56th overall out of 272 teams.

Three boys wrestlers placed in the state, including one weight-class champion, and Sierra Pienkowski was a runner-up in the girls state tournament.

Chris Wilkerson, an eighth-grader, placed fifth overall in the schoolboy 144-pound division.

Chase Masters was eighth in the novice 140-pound division as a fifth-grader.

Pienkowski, a sixth-grader, was second in the schoolgirl 112-119-pound weight class.

The Marauder Wrestling Club is open to wrestlers in kinder- garten through 12th grade with the mission of promoting offseason training, conditioning and competition.

Over the years, the club has helped build the Mt. Vernon High School wrestling program from the youth level up.
