Pair of area players collect All-State honors
Greenfield Central’s Tate Hall and Mt. Vernon’s Michael Ertel received a statewide honor Thursday.
Hall was named to the IBCA/Subway Senior Large School roster, while Ertel was named to the Underclass Large School roster.
Fifteen seniors and 15 underclassmen were named to the Supreme 15 teams, the top honor awarded, and players were voted to that group without regard to school size. The Large School designation was made up of remaining players from Class 3A and Class 4A.

Aquatic team offering swim lessons
The Greenfield Community Aquatic Team is offering swimming lessons next month. The spring session is set for April 4 to 21.
Lessons are 30 minutes each and will take place Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays for three weeks with six lessons overall.
The cost is $65 for group lessons with four to six swimmers or $100 for private lessons.
Available time slots include: 4 to 4:30 p.m.; 4:30 to 5 p.m.; 5 to 5:30 p.m.; or 5:30 to 6 p.m.
Online registration is open until April 1. Walk-in registration will be 6 to 7 p.m. today and Thursday at the Greenfield-Central Aquatic Center. Registration is available online at swimgcat.com.

Boys basketball state finals this weekend
The 106th Annual Indiana High School Athletic Association’s Boys Basketball State Finals will take place Saturday.
Admission to each session is $15.

Session I
Class A State Championship: Bloomfield (26-3) vs. Liberty Christian (25-4), 10:30 a.m.
Class 2A State Championship: Indianapolis Howe (23-7) vs. Lapel (25-4), approximately 12:45 p.m.
Session II
Class 3A State Championship: Evansville Bosse (19-10) vs. Griffith-Marion winner, 6 p.m.
Class 4A State Championship: New Albany (26-1) vs. McCutcheon (28-3), approximately 8:15 p.m.
