Breakfast to raise money for missions

EDEN — Members of Eden United Methodist Church will serve breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. April 2. A free-will offering will support local and global missions.

Spud Supper helping missions, other projects

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church’s annual Spud Supper is set for 4 to 7 p.m. April 9 at the church, 3447 South State Road 9.

Several potato toppings, salads, hot dogs, desserts and drinks will be available. Carry-out is an option, too.

A free-will offering will be accepted. Proceeds will fund mission and special projects.

‘13-Pie’ author coming to McCordsville church

Author and retired United Methodist pastor Riley B. Case will be guest pastor at 9:30 a.m. April 3 at McCordsville United Methodist Church.

Case wrote the church’s current book club selection, “How Hackleburg Became a 13-Pie Church.” After the service, a reception in the fellowship hall will feature pie. Bring a pie to share with the group and receive a free copy of the book.

Bible school set for spring break week

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will offer a free spring break Bible school for children from 3 years old through fifth grade. It will run March 28 through April 1 at the church, 23 N. East St. Sessions begin at 6 p.m. with dinner and close at 8 p.m.

Free workshops cover cooking skills

FOUNTAINTOWN — Upcoming free workshops offer strategies for improving cooking skills and eating healthier.

Classes meet from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays from April 5 to 26, at Fountaintown Christian Church, 797 W. Brookville Road. Call Love INC at 468-6300 by April 5 to register for free.

MOPS group plans craft, shopping event

GREENFIELD — The MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group at St. Michael Catholic Church presents its annual “Scrap, Craft, & Shop” fundraiser April 9.

MOPS opens up the parish life center and welcomes crafters to work on their projects alongside others. It feeds registrants both breakfast and lunch. Vendors showcase/sell their crafting goods.

Chicken noodle dinner supports scholarships

GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church will serve chicken and noodles from 5 to 7 p.m. April 9. A free-will offering will help support the church’s scholarship fund.

Purdue musicians to present concert

IRVINGTON — Purdue Musical Organizations present the University Choir, Purdue Bells, and the Heart and Soul ensemble at 7:30 p.m. April 8 at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 Johnson Ave., Indianapolis. The concert is free.

Simulcast featuring teacher, author set

GREENFIELD — A simulcast featuring Bible teacher and best-selling author Priscilla Shirer will be shown live April 23.

St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S. State St., is serving as a host location for the Greenfield area. Doors open at 8 a.m.; the simulcast runs from 8:50 a.m. to 4:35 p.m.
