Charles Eugene “Chuck” Vaughn, 68, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, at his home. He was born on Aug. 28, 1947, in New Castle, to the late Ora and Virginia Vaughn. He married his wife, Chloteen on June 30, 1985.
Chuck was a graduate of Eastern Hancock High School, and would later go on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He would then spend his life working for Navistar for 42 years until his retirement in 2009. Chuck was an a member of the Greenfield VFW Post #2693, where he was very active in the Cloth a Child Program. He was an avid bowler and loved spending time with his children and grandkids.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Chloteen Vaughn of Greenfield; daughter, Wendy (Sean) Buckler of Avon, Ind.; stepdaughter, Audrey (Shawn) Atkinson of Greenfield; sisters, Kathy (Bob) McCorkle, Mary Ann (Rick) Ricketts, Ruth Morgan and five grandchildren, three of which are from Greenfield, Kristen Coltharp, Spencer Coltharp of Fort Campbell, Ky. and Justin Coltharp.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, J. Duane Vaughn.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with military rites presented at 5:45 p.m. on March 24, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. A Celebration of Life will be held from Noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Greenfield VFW for all who would like to pay their respects.
