Stella M. Porter, 84, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice. She was born on Jan. 4, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Isom and Mary Jane (Whittey) Blankenship.
Stella worked for Western Electric, and retired as a group leader after 14 years from RCA-Indy. She loved crafts, gardening, traveling and was an avid walker.
Stella attended Park Chapel Christian Church, and Brandywine Community Church. She was very family oriented, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife.
Stella is survived by her daughters, Gail (Danny) Bishop of Kokomo; Denise Humphrey of Greenfield; Andrea (Mike) Lynn; five grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, James W. Porter; daughter, Linda S. Hinterlong; three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Wickham officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery, Indianapolis.
