Marion “Gram” (Miller) Cox, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She would have been 100 years old on her birthday this year. She was born on July 3, 1916, in Hancock County as the daughter of Guy E. and Ethel G. (Scott) Miller. Marion married Forrest M. Cox on Feb. 16, 1933, in Charlottesville.

She worked for H.P. Wasson Department Store for 16 years before retiring. She also worked for Senior Citizens for many years. Marion was a member of Greenfield Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, riding horses, bicycling and baking cookies.

Marion is survived by her children, Willa Dean Lopez of Greenfield, Sue (Sonny) Martin of Greenfield, Sonja Dearing of Fishers, Judy (Vic) Boyer of Greenfield and Bob “Sonny” (Linda) Cox of New Palestine; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Miller of Crawfordsville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 42 great- grandchildren; 23 great- great- grandchildren and one on the way and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy E. and Ethel G. (Scott) Miller; husband, Forrest Cox; five brothers, Robert, Richard, Philip, Billy and Tommy; son-in-law’s, Jerry R. Wasson and Lucio V. Lopez.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the mortuary with viewing two hours prior to the service.  Jim Coleman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
