Ida (Haynes) Polly, 100, of New Palestine, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born on May 11, 1915, in Ermine, Ky., as the daughter of James and Mary (Hart) Haynes. She married Henry Polly on May 19, 1932 in Ermine, Ky.

Ida worked in Quality Control for RCA for 22 years before retiring. She was a member of Morristown Order of the Eastern Star and the New Palestine Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her children, Maurice (Sherry) Polly of Wildwood, Fla., Marlyeen Reid of Danville and Douglas (Marilyn) Polly of New Palestine; sisters, Ethel Day of Wilmore, Ky., Irene Addington of Ermine, Ky.; six grandchildren, Wayne (Debbie) Polly of New Palestine, Mechele Izbicki of New Palestine, Darlene (Troy) Brown of Fairland, Madonna (David) Ault of Homosassa, Fla. Janice (Rick) Mills of Homosassa, Fla., and Jo Ann Koenig of Avon; 12 great- grandchildren, Megan, Corie, Kristin, Justin, Eddie, Joseph, Morgan, Hannah, Ben, Madison, Blaise, and Cole; two great- stepgrandchildren, Kyle and Andrea; and four great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Haynes; husband, Henry; grandson, Dr. Mark Reid; three brothers, Wendell, Clyde, and Bill Haynes; five sisters, Jerene Spangler, Louie Caudill, Ruth Johnson, Marie Clifton and Junita Haynes; son-in-law, Joe Reid; and grandson-in-law, Ed Izbicki.

Visitation was held on from Noon until 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. A funeral service took place immediately following at 2 p.m. Burial followed at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
