Retired teachers welcome superintendent

GREENFIELD — At its March meeting, Hancock County Retired Teachers welcomed guests Harold Olin, Superintendent of Greenfield Central Community School Corp.; Tom Mellish, executive director of Indiana State Retired Teachers; and Ray Pavy, Area 5 retired teachers director. As the main speaker, Olin spoke about the many recent changes in education as well as the importance of collaborative instruction and student-driven instruction.

Mellish emphasized the importance of speaking with state legislators about protecting retired teachers pensions.

All retired educators who live or taught in Hancock County are invited to attend the next meeting at 11 a.m. May 11 at Ponderosa, 1585 N. State Street.
