GREENFIELD — Greenfield in Bloom recently selected flowers to plant this year in downtown lamp post baskets and planters.
The organization is encouraging the use of white, blue and gold flowers to help celebrate the Bicentennial Celebration this year.
Yellow or gold flowers suggested are: dahlia, lily, tulip, daffodil, rudbeckia (Black-Eyed Susans), coneflower, yarrow, alyssum, primrose, pansy, clematis tangutica, zinnia, French marigold, pot marigold, coreopsis and sunflower.
Blue flowers suggested are: English bluebells, Virginia bluebells, scilla, Dutch iris, iris reticulata, anemone, scabiosa, campanula, balloon flower, aster, delphinium, larkspur, forget-me-nots, globe thistle, pansy, gentian, clematis, veronica, nigella, ageratum, lobelia and Texas bluebonnet.
