James A. Ellenberger

James A. Ellenberger, 80 of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on Feb. 18, 1936, in Lawrence, to the late Charles and Katherine (Bell) Ellenberger.

James graduated from Lawrence Central High School and spent his life working as a diesel mechanic. He owned and operated Reliable Lawn Service & E&E Excavation. James also worked for Fisk Inc., Ed’s Pools, BFI, and C & B Building Removal. James was an avid Football & Nascar fan, he loved to fish and he cherished time spent with his family.

James is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Stanley) Ellenberger whom he married on Dec. 25, 1992; sons, Steve and Scott Ellenberger both of Greenfield; daughters, Debbie Beekman of Denver, Colo., Sara Morton of Mooreland, IN, Sheena Lowder of Shirley, Abby Russell of New Palestine; brother, Jerry Ellenberger of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Diane DEE Fisk Phillips of Greenfield; 21 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4- 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Brackney officiating.
