Preschool relocates to Greenfield Christian

GREENFIELD — Learning Tree Preschool has moved to Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 23 N. East St.

Directed by Marla Lewis and Melva Jackson, the preschool previously met in the former First Church of God building at 700 N. Broadway.

The preschool works toward goals of fostering positive identity and senses of emotional well-being, enhancing social skills, promoting language and literacy development, building physical development and skill, appreciating and respecting cultural diversity and developing math skills. The curriculum includes phonics, writing, a multi-sensory approach to learning the alphabet, math, arts and crafts, and music and movement.

The preschool is open to children 3 to 5 years old who are potty-trained. Children may be enrolled anytime during the year, provided openings are available. Class schedules are:

•Ages 4 and 5: 8:30 to 11 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

•Ages 3 and 4: 9 to 11 a.m. or 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Musical duo coming to New Hope for concert

GREENFIELD — Water in2 Wine will be in concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at New Hope Nazarene Church, 52 N. County Road 500E. The group is made up of Jonathan and Aaron Ashlock, who were born to missionary parents in Brazil, South America. They also lived for several years in the Philippines.

Aaron has not only singing ability but also song writing.

They produced their first CD in August 2000; it included several of Aaron’s originals as well as some favorites such as “At the Cross,” “Mary Did You Know” and “I Pledge Allegiance.”

St. Thomas offers dinners during Lent

FORTVILLE — St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church prepares meatless meals from 5 to 7 p.m. on Fridays during Lent at the parish activity center.

Friday’s menu features quiche, salmon patties and macaroni and cheese.

Meals include assorted veggies, salad, desserts and drink. A free-will offering will be taken for all meals but the fish fries, which cost $5 per meal.

St. Thomas is located at 523 S. Merrill St., Fortville.

Fellowship dinner set in McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church’s next Second Saturday Community Dinner is set for 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at the church, 6247 W. Broadway.

The menu will feature ham and beans, cornbread, a salad bar and desserts. A free-will offering for the meal will benefit the church.

Gleaners truck to visit Carthage

CARTHAGE — Blue River Community Harvest announces the Gleaners Mobile Food Truck will be at a new location in Carthage from 9 a.m. to noon March 19. Look for the truck on Mill Street, just east of Main Street and south of the Community Center. Mill Street will be blocked off, and there will be only street parking. Check in and registration may be in the Community Center or just outside.

Lenten supper series features hymn sing

FORTVILLE — Fortville United Methodist Church’s 2016 Lenten Supper Program concludes Wednesday.

A meal begins at 6 p.m. at the church, 125 E. Staat St., followed at 6:30 by a hymn sing. Offerings will be accepted.
